board of directors

Our organization is led by a board of directors, all with experience in feline rescue, supported by a team of volunteers. The board oversees the strategic direction of the rescue, and all have assigned duties aligned with their roles.  The entire Board of Directors is committed to actively contributing to Coastal Cat Rescue during their assigned terms. Our vision is clear, but we also know we will evolve as our community and needs evolve.  We want to move at a pace that allows success without overwhelming our strengths.

President

Ellen WHitney

Ellen is a lifelong animal lover but has always had a soft spot for cats. She has been volunteering at local shelters and rescues for the past 25 years. She has been the Vice
President and the Adoption Coordinator for 5 years with her local humane society and when she moved to the South Shore, she became the Shelter Operations Manager for another local rescue. That position gave her a great deal of experience from caring for sick cats, to managing volunteers and handling administrative tasks that go along with any rescue organization. She was lucky enough to meet caring and compassionate people who shared her passion for animals and was able to band together to create Coastal Cat. She believes it is about working together, learning and evolving while doing our best to help support the feline population in a
positive and responsible way.

Ellen was also a Municipal Bond Trader before she chose to stay home to raise her family. She has always been actively involved in her community and in her free time

she loves to walk, listen to music and play pickle ball!

Public Relations

Sara Ventetuolo

Sara presently works at an independent advertising agency representing a roster of regional, national, and international brands. As a Director, Sara leads teams to produce traditional and new media content. Over Sara’s career as a commercial producer, some of her favorite projects have included talented animals as stars.  High points included working on commercials with the team that trained the chihuahuas for Legally Blond & Taco Bell and a “reality show” sponsored by Meow Mix where 10 shelter cats lived in a NYC house.  The 10-episode series documented relationships highlighting the unique personalities and getting “voted out” of the house meant getting adopted!  Sara has dedicated her free time as a volunteer for a few MA animal rescues over the years including the MSPCA.  Sara will now be putting her content creation skills plus love of animals to work as our PR lead with Coastal Cat Rescue.
